How often should I water?
Tell us about your plant and where it lives - you'll get a sensible starting interval and, just as important, how to check before you pour. These are starting points, not rules: your finger in the soil always wins.
Let the top 2-3 cm of soil dry out before watering again.
How to check: push a finger 2-3 cm into the soil. Dry at the tip? Time to water. Still damp or cool? Wait a day or two and check again. A cheap moisture meter or lifting the pot (light = dry) works too.
⚠️ Overwatering kills more houseplants than underwatering. When the soil check and this estimate disagree, trust the soil. Pots without drainage, cold rooms and dense soil all hold water longer - lean drier.
